El Capitan Gauchos (Merced, CA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the host Merced Bears (Merced, CA), 5-4 in a league test.

With the win, El Capitan upgrades its record to 12-11 on the season. The Gauchos travel to Buhach Colony (Atwater, CA) to battle the Thunder in a Central California Conference test on Tuesday, April 23. The Thunder come into the test with a record of 2-21. Buhach Colony lost 6-5 in their recent non-league test against Escalon (Escalon, CA)

With the defeat, Merced falls to 11-10 on the season. The Bears host Central Valley (Ceres, CA) to battle the Hawks in a Central California Conference test on Tuesday, April 23. The Hawks come into the test with a record of 11-13. Central Valley won 6-2 in their recent non-league test against Hilmar (Hilmar, CA)
