The Walker Valley Mustangs got by the host Beech Buccaneers softball squad by a count of 2-1 in Friday's non-league battle.

The Mustangs (19-5) will now prepare for their battle against Brighton (Brighton, TN). The Cardinals go into the non-league battle with a 9-10 record. In their last battle, Brighton was edged by Donelson Christian Academy (Nashville, TN), 10-4, in a non-league battle.

The Buccaneers now sport a 7-7 record. They play next when they travel to Allen County-Scottsville for a non-league battle on Saturday, April 20. Beech will meet a Patriots squad coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to Central Magnet (Murfreesboro, TN). The Patriots record now stands at 10-6.
