Kansas High School Softball - Bluestem holds off Caney Valley
April 19, 2024: Caney, KS 67333 Bluestem Lions (Leon, KS) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Caney Valley Bullpups (Caney, KS), 8-6 in a non-league challenge.
The Lions now sport a 9-0 record. They take the field next when they host Olpe for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 22. Bluestem will face a Eagles squad coming off a 17-9 non-league loss to Burlington (Burlington, KS). The Eagles record now stands at 2-9.
With the loss, Caney Valley falls to 5-4 on the campaign. The Bullpups travel to Field Kindley (Coffeyville, KS) to face the Golden Tornado in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 23. The Golden Tornado enter the challenge with a record of 1-5. Field Kindley lost 7-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Parsons (Parsons, KS)
