The Hilltop Lancers overwhelmed the host Mount Miguel Matadors softball squad by a count of 19-3 in Monday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Lancers meet the Mar Vista Mariners (Imperial Beach, CA) in a Metro South Bay challenge, on Wednesday, April 22. Hilltop will attempt to upgrade on its 5-12 season record. The Mariners go into the challenge with a 3-9 record after their 10-3 league win over Sweetwater (National City, CA).

The Matadors (7-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Monte Vista (Spring Valley, CA). The Monarchs go into the Grossmont Valley challenge with a 8-9 record. In their last challenge, Monte Vista was routed by Grossmont (El Cajon, CA), 19-4, in a league challenge.
