Spectators at Friday's non-league battle between the West Middlesex Big Reds (West Middlesex, PA) and the visiting Laurel Spartan (New Castle, PA), saw West Middlesex's baseball squad knock off Laurel by a count of 11-3.

Coming up next, the Big Reds play the Greenville Trojans (Greenville, PA) in a District 10 Region 1 battle, on Monday, April 24. West Middlesex will attempt to move on its 6-3 season record. The Trojans enter the battle with a 5-3 record after their 8-2 league loss to Wilmington (New Wilmington, PA).

The Spartan now possess a 3-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to New Brighton for a WPIAL 2A 2 battle on Monday, April 24. Laurel will play a Lions squad coming off a 21-6 league win over Northgate (Pittsburgh, PA). The Lions record now stands at 8-4.
