The South Fayette Lions (McDonald, PA) softball routed the host New Castle Hurricanes (New Castle, PA), 8-2 in Friday's league bout.

The Lions (7-5) will now prepare for their bout against Mars (Mars, PA). The Fightin' Planets go into the WPIAL 5A 3 bout with a 5-5 record. In their last bout, Mars was routed by North Hills (Pittsburgh, PA), 10-6, in a non-league bout.
