April 21, 2025: Gillespie, IL 62033 Hillsboro Hiltoppers (Hillsboro, IL) boosters exited the stadium pleased Monday as they witnessed their soccer team knock off the host Gillespie Miners (Gillespie, IL), 6-4 in a league test.
With the triumph, Hillsboro moves its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Hiltoppers host North Mac (Virden, IL) to clash with the Panthers in a South Central test on Thursday, April 24. The Panthers come into the test with a record of 2-12. North Mac lost 7-1 in their recent league test against Greenville (Greenville, IL)
The Miners now sport a 2-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Roxana for a non-league test on Wednesday, April 23. Gillespie will clash with a Shells team coming off a 7-1 non-league loss to Civic Memorial (Bethalto, IL). The Shells record now stands at 4-7.
