The Boothbay Seahawks softball team (Boothbay Harbor, ME), was routed 15-2 in Monday's league test with the visiting Carrabec Cobras (North Anson, ME)

Coming up next, the Cobras encounter the St. Dominic Saints (Lewiston, ME) in a Class C West test, on Wednesday, April 24. Carrabec will attempt to improve on its 1-0 season record.

The Seahawks (0-1) will now prepare for their test against Dirigo (Dixfield, ME). The Cougars enter the Class C West test with a 0-0 record.

The strategic hitting and excellent base running by the Cobras in the top of the 6th put Boothbay in the woods and they had a hard time finding their way out. It was neck and neck pitching by both Boothbay's Senior Allison Crocker and Carrabec's Jessica Valliancourt until the top of the 6th. The 6th inning was all Carrabec with 10 players crossing the plate giving them a 15-1 lead. Boothbay just couldn't get it back in the bottom of the 6th and only saw Crocker take home off junior Nicole Labrecque's line drive to second.

From Coach O'Brien of Boothbay " This is not the start of the season that I had hoped for the Lady Seahawks. But the game is over and what we take from it is learning where our weakness are and how to improve on them. The fact that the team played so good in the first 5 innings is inspiring as the past has shown we usually give up most of our runs in the first 3 innings. We can only move up from here."
