Illinois High School Softball - Alton bounces Cahokia
April 22, 2024: Alton, IL 62002 The Alton Redbirds softball team scored 6 runs and held the visiting Cahokia Comanches to 0 in the Redbirds non-league win on Monday.
The Redbirds now sport a 6-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Belleville East for a Southwestern battle on Tuesday, April 23. Alton will confront a Lancers team coming off a 5-2 non-league win over Jersey (Jerseyville, IL). The Lancers record now stands at 16-7.
With the loss, Cahokia moves to 0-13 on the season. The Comanches host Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IL) to confront the Rams in a South Seven battle on Tuesday, April 23. The Rams come into the battle with a record of 9-11. Mt. Vernon lost 9-3 in their recent non-league battle against Salem (Salem, IL)
