Ohio High School Softball - Mt. Vernon gets by Lakewood
April 23, 2022: Mt. Vernon, OH 43050 Spectators at Saturday's non-league match between the Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets (Mt. Vernon, OH) and the visiting Lakewood Lancers (Hebron, OH), witnessed Mt. Vernon's softball squad tip Lakewood by a count of 8-7.
The Yellowjackets now sport a 12-3 record. They play next when they host North Ridgeville for a non-league match on Saturday, April 23. Mt. Vernon will face a Rangers squad coming off a 2-1 league win over Avon (Avon, OH). The Rangers record now stands at 6-0.
With the loss, Lakewood moves to 4-4 on the season. The Lancers host Heath (Heath, OH) to face the Bulldogs in a Licking County match on Tuesday, April 26. The Bulldogs go into the match with a record of 9-3.
