The Huntington Highlanders softball squad (Huntington, WV), was routed 17-9 in Wednesday's non-league contest with the host Nitro Wildcats (Nitro, WV)

With the triumph, Nitro improves its record to 9-13 on the year. The Wildcats travel to Hoover (Clendenin, WV) to face the Huskies in a Cardinal contest on Thursday, April 24. The Huskies enter the contest with a record of 15-4. Hoover won 6-2 in their recent non-league contest against Lincoln County (Hamlin, WV)

The Highlanders now hold a 3-17 record. They play next when they host South Charleston for a Mountain State contest on Thursday, April 24. Huntington will face a Black Eagles squad coming off a 8-0 non-league loss to Southern (Racine, OH). The Black Eagles record now stands at 6-14.
