The George Wythe Maroons the visiting Eastern Montgomery Mustangs softball squad by a final score of 9-7 in Monday's non-league battle.

The Maroons (7-8) will now prepare for their battle against Galax (Galax, VA). The Maroon Tide go into the Mountain Empire battle with a 4-4 record. In their last battle, Galax held off Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA), 19-12, in a league battle.

The Mustangs now possess a 6-7 record. They play next when they host Craig County for a Pioneer battle on Thursday, April 27. Eastern Montgomery will meet a Rockets squad coming off a 22-6 non-league win over Giles (Pearisburg, VA). The Rockets record now stands at 4-4.
