Maine High School Softball - Washington Academy bounces Mount Desert Island
April 24, 2024: East Machias, ME 04630 Washington Academy Raiders (East Machias, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Mount Desert Island Trojans (Mount Desert, ME), 15-3 in a non-league challenge.
The Raiders now own a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Narraguagus for a Class C North challenge on Friday, April 26. Washington Academy will face a Knights squad coming off a 23-3 league win over Calais (Calais, ME). The Knights record now stands at 2-1.
With the loss, Mount Desert Island falls to 2-1 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Hermon (Hermon, ME) to face the Hawks in a Class B North challenge on Thursday, April 25. The Hawks enter the challenge with a record of 2-0. Hermon won 8-1 in their recent league challenge against Old Town (Old Town, ME)
