The United Lions baseball team scored 11 runs and held the visiting Ferndale Yellow Jackets to 1 in the Lions non-league win on Friday.

The Lions now hold a 5-8 record. They take the field next when they host Portage for a Heritage test on Tuesday, April 29.

With the defeat, Ferndale drops to 2-8 on the year. The Yellow jackets host Turkeyfoot Valley Area (Confluence, PA) to play the Rams in a Western Pennsylvania test on Monday, April 28. The Rams go into the test with a record of 4-4. Turkeyfoot Valley Area lost 10-0 in their recent league test against Blacklick Valley (Nanty Glo, PA)
