In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Patton Panthers softball team scored a tight 6-2 win over the Draughn Wildcats.

The Panthers (7-14) will now prepare for their match against Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Patriots come into the non-league match with a 6-15 record. In their last match, Freedom was routed by Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC), 18-0, in a league match.

In their next game, the Wildcats battle the East Burke Cavaliers (Connelly Springs, NC) in a non-league match, on Friday, April 25. Draughn will attempt to better on its 12-7 season record. The Cavaliers come into the match with a 4-17 record after their 10-0 league loss to West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC).
