Spectators at Friday's non-league battle between the New Castle Hurricanes (New Castle, PA) and the host Champion Golden Flashes (Warren, OH), saw New Castle's baseball squad knock off Champion by a count of 4-0.

Coming up next, the Hurricanes play the Moon Area Tigers (Moon Township, PA) in a WPIAL 5A 3 battle, on Monday, April 29. New Castle will attempt to move on its 1-14 season record. The Tigers enter the battle with a 6-7 record after their 7-6 non-league win over Montour (McKees Rocks, PA).

The Golden Flashes now possess a 7-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Newton Falls for a Mahoning Valley Athletic - Grey battle on Monday, April 29. Champion will play a Tigers squad coming off a 17-2 non-league win over Western Reserve (Berlin Center, OH). The Tigers record now stands at 7-7.
