Cape Hatteras Hurricanes (Buxton, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Mattamuskeet Lakers (Swan Quarter, NC), 16-6 in a league test.

With the win, Cape Hatteras upgrades its record to 2-10 on the season. The Hurricanes travel to Manteo (Manteo, NC) to battle the Redskins in a non-league test on Monday, May 1. The Redskins come into the test with a record of 7-10. Manteo won 13-5 in their recent league test against Hertford County (Ahoskie, NC)
