Anderson County Mavericks (Clinton, TN) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team knock off the host Campbell County Cougars (Jacksboro, TN), 3-1 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Mavericks confront the Roane County Yellowjackets (Kingston, TN) in a 2A District 5 challenge, on Tuesday, May 2. Anderson County will attempt to better on its 3-7 season record. The Yellowjackets enter the challenge with a 4-2 record after their 5-0 non-league win over Greenback (Greenback, TN).

The Cougars now have a 2-12 record. They take the field next when they host Knoxville Central for a 3A District 3 challenge on Saturday, April 29.
