Spectators at Thursday's league battle between the Birmingham Patriots (Lake Balboa, CA) and the visiting Taft Toreadors (Woodland Hills, CA), saw Birmingham's baseball squad knock off Taft by a count of 10-5.

Coming up next, the Patriots play the Simi Valley Pioneers (Simi Valley, CA) in a non-league match, on Saturday, May 1. Birmingham will attempt to improve on its 7-12 season record. The Pioneers go into the match with a 7-8 record after their 10-5 league loss to Royal (Simi Valley, CA).

The Toreadors (4-4) will now prepare for their match against El Camino Real (Woodland Hills, CA). The Conquistadors go into the West valley match with a 6-9 record. In their last match, El Camino Real was overwhelmed by Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, CA), 8-0, in a non-league match.
