Alta Hawks (Sandy, UT) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Orem Tigers (Orem, UT), 9-8 in a league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 10-12 record. They take the field next when they host Timpview for a 5A Region 7 challenge on Monday, May 3. Alta will battle a Thunderbirds squad coming off a 22-12 league loss to Mountain View (Orem, UT). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 2-10.

With the loss, Orem falls to 13-7 on the campaign. The Tigers host Lehi (Lehi, UT) to battle the Pioneers in a 5A Region 7 challenge on Thursday, May 6. The Pioneers enter the challenge with a record of 15-9.
