The Hoover Patriots nipped the visiting Edison Tigers softball squad by a final score of 6-5 in Thursday's non-league battle.

The Patriots (1-2) will now prepare for their battle against Roosevelt (Fresno, CA). The Rough Riders go into the North Yosemite battle with a 0-6 record. In their last battle, Roosevelt was edged by Mendota (Mendota, CA), 18-7, in a non-league battle.

The Tigers now possess a 1-5 record. They play next when they travel to San Joaquin Memorial for a County/Metro battle on Tuesday, May 4. Edison will meet a Panthers squad coming off a 7-2 non-league loss to Washington Union (Fresno, CA). The Panthers record now stands at 1-4.
