New York High School Softball - Wayne holds off Aquinas Institute
April 29, 2024: Ontario Center, NY 14520 Spectators at Monday's non-league match between the Wayne Eagles (Ontario Center, NY) and the visiting Aquinas Institute Little Irish (Rochester, NY), witnessed Wayne's softball squad tip Aquinas Institute by a count of 14-12.
The Eagles now sport a 5-6 record. They play next when they travel to Mynderse Academy for a Finger Lakes East match on Wednesday, May 1. Wayne will meet a Blue Devils squad coming off a 21-10 league win over Palmyra-Macedon (Palmyra, NY). The Blue Devils record now stands at 5-5.
With the loss, Aquinas Institute moves to 2-6 on the season. The Little irish host School of the Arts (Rochester, NY) to meet the Silverhawks in a Class A match on Tuesday, April 30. The Silverhawks go into the match with a record of 6-2. School of the Arts won 15-0 in their recent non-league match against Early College (Yonkers, NY)
