The crowd at Monday's league match between the New Castle Hurricanes (New Castle, PA) and the visiting Moon Area Tigers (Moon Township, PA), saw New Castle's softball squad nip Moon Area by a count of 9-8.

The Hurricanes now sport a 4-8 record. They take the field next when they host Western Beaver for a WPIAL 5A 3 match on Wednesday, May 1.

With the loss, Moon Area falls to 0-8 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Hampton (Allison Park, PA) to face the Talbots in a non-league match on Tuesday, April 30.
