With the triumph, Gillespie moves its record to 13-5 on the season. The Miners host Staunton (Staunton, IL) to confront the Bulldogs in a South Central contest on Monday, May 4. The Bulldogs come into the contest with a record of 12-10.

The Cougars now possess a 18-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Columbia for a Cahokia - Other contest on Thursday, April 30. Breese Central will confront a Eagles squad coming off a 4-0 non-league loss to Oakville (St. Louis, MO). The Eagles record now stands at 9-11.
