New York High School Softball - Walt Whitman holds off West Babylon
May 1, 2023: Huntington Station, NY 11746 Walt Whitman Wildcats (Huntington Station, NY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting West Babylon Eagles (West Babylon, NY), 4-2 in a non-league challenge.
The Wildcats now own a 7-6 record. They take the field next when they host Bay Shore for a Section 11 AA-2 challenge on Wednesday, May 3.
With the loss, West Babylon falls to 3-7 on the campaign. The Eagles host Hauppauge (Hauppauge, NY) to battle the Eagles in a Section 11 A-5 challenge on Tuesday, May 2. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 10-3. Hauppauge lost 7-2 in their recent league challenge against East Islip (Islip Terrace, NY)
