New Bern Bears (New Bern, NC) followers exited the stadium in high spirits Thursday as they saw their lacrosse team gain a win over the host West Carteret Patriots (Morehead City, NC), 14-12 in a non-league battle.

With the victory, New Bern advances its record to 11-8 on the season. The Bears host Northside - Jacksonville (Jacksonville, NC) to encounter the Monarchs in a Big Carolina/Northeastern Coastal battle on Monday, May 5. The Monarchs come into the battle with a record of 9-6. Northside - Jacksonville won 17-5 in their recent league battle against Jacksonville (Jacksonville, NC)

The Patriots now sport a 3-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host Swansboro for a Coastal battle on Friday, May 2. West Carteret will encounter a Pirates team coming off a 16-2 league loss to Croatan (Newport, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 7-12.
