In Friday's league match, the visiting El Segundo Eagles softball team scored a tight 5-2 victory over the South Spartans.

The Eagles (12-13) will now prepare for their match against Valley Christian (Cerritos, CA). The Defenders go into the non-league match with a 11-7 record. In their last match, Valley Christian was routed by Whittier Christian (La Habra, CA), 15-9, in a league match.

In their next game, the Spartans battle the Torrance Tartars (Torrance, CA) in a match, on Monday, May 4. South will attempt to better on its 13-13 season record. The Tartars go into the match with a 19-8 record after their 7-0 non-league win over West (Torrance, CA).
