Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC), 9-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 18-4 record. They take the field next when they host South Caldwell for a non-league challenge on Friday, May 3. Alexander Central will battle a Spartans squad coming off a 16-1 non-league win over Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 21-0.
