Clarksburg Coyotes (Clarksburg, MD) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Sherwood Warriors (Sandy Spring, MD), 5-2 in a league challenge.

The Coyotes now own a 13-1 record. They take the field next when they host Walter Johnson for a Montgomery County 4A - West challenge on Thursday, May 4. Clarksburg will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 19-6 non-league win over Einstein (Kensington, MD). The Wildcats record now stands at 12-1.

With the loss, Sherwood falls to 7-1 on the campaign. The Warriors host Damascus (Damascus, MD) to face the Hornets in a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 4. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 18-0. Damascus won 17-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Quince Orchard (Gaithersburg, MD)
