The Crater Comets (Central Point, OR) softball nipped the visiting Thurston Colts (Springfield, OR), 8-7 in Friday's league outing.

The Comets now sport a 9-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Eagle Point for a 5A Midwestern outing on Tuesday, May 6. Crater will encounter a Eagles team coming off a 11-2 non-league win over Yreka (Yreka, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 10-6.
