In Thursday's league contest, the Covington Cougars (Covington, VA) softball team overwhelmed the host Eastern Montgomery Mustangs (Elliston, VA), by a margin of 20-2.

With the triumph, Covington moves its record to 9-8 on the year. The Cougars travel to Craig County (New Castle, VA) to play the Rockets in a Pioneer contest on Thursday, May 11. The Rockets come into the contest with a record of 7-5.
