In Saturday's league contest, the Mt. Vernon Wildcats (Mt. Vernon, IN) softball team overwhelmed the host Pike Central Chargers (Petersburg, IN), by a margin of 8-1.

With the triumph, Mt. Vernon moves its record to 10-9 on the year. The Wildcats travel to Jasper (Jasper, IN) to play the Wildcats in a non-league contest on Saturday, May 4.
