The Sutherland Knights the visiting Mendon Vikings baseball team by a count of 4-1 in Saturday's league bout.

The Knights now possess a 13-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Batavia for a non-league bout on Wednesday, May 9. Sutherland will face a Blue Devils team coming off a 9-8 non-league win over Greece Odyssey (Rochester, NY). The Blue Devils record now stands at 7-3.

Next, the Vikings face the Eastridge Lancers (Rochester, NY) in a Section 5 Monroe County III bout, on Monday, May 7. Mendon will attempt to move on its 3-7 season record. The Lancers enter the bout with a 5-6 record after their 21-3 non-league win over School of the Arts/Northeast/Northwest College Prep (Rochester, NY).

The Sutherland Knights defeated cross-town rival Pittsford Mendon 4-1 in the annual Pittsford Baseball Benefit Game. The Knights jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning thanks to a single by Jeffrey Kay that scored Grant Heyman, who was hit by a pitch and Spencer Lowe, who had singled.

The score stayed that way until the 4th inning when Heyman and Lowe reached base and both scored on Sean Menard's double to centerfield. In the fifth inning the Vikings were able to take advantage of some shaky Knights' defense to plate a run and make the score 4-1 but they could get no closer.

Senior righthander John Meuchner threw a complete game 1 hitter with 7 strikeouts for his fourth win of the season.
