Ottawa Pirates (Ottawa, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Kaneland Knights (Maple Park, IL), 3-0 in a league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 9-1 record. They take the field next when they host Streator for a non-league challenge on Thursday, May 6. Ottawa will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 9-7 league win over Wilmington (Wilmington, IL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 5-2.

With the loss, Kaneland falls to 4-2 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Morris (Morris, IL) to face the Redskins in a Interstate Eight challenge on Thursday, May 6. The Redskins enter the challenge with a record of 7-4. Morris won 13-9 in their recent league challenge against LaSalle-Peru (LaSalle, IL)
