In Thursday's non-league contest, the Newtown Nighthawks (Newtown, CT) softball team overwhelmed the visiting New Milford Green Wave (New Milford, CT), by a margin of 8-0.

With the triumph, Newtown moves its record to 11-3 on the year. The Nighthawks travel to Notre Dame Catholic (Fairfield, CT) to play the Lancers in a Southwest - Patriot contest on Monday, May 9. The Lancers come into the contest with a record of 8-5.

In their next game, the Green Wave play the Pomperaug Panthers (Southbury, CT) in a Southwest - Patriot contest, on Monday, May 9. New Milford will attempt to move on its 8-7 season record.
