Lake Hornets (Lake, MS) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Loyd Star Hornets (Brookhaven, MS), 7-1 in a non-league test.

With the win, Lake upgrades its record to 10-9 on the season. The Hornets travel to Pisgah (Sandhill, MS) to battle the Dragons in a non-league test on Tuesday, May 9. The Dragons come into the test with a record of 21-8. Pisgah won 6-5 in their recent non-league test against Mize (Mize, MS)

With the defeat, Loyd Star drops to 25-7 on the campaign.
