North Central Panthers (Indianapolis, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Decatur Central Hawks (Indianapolis, IN), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 11-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Roncalli for a non-league challenge on Saturday, May 6. North Central will battle a Royals squad coming off a 11-1 non-league win over Indianapolis Lutheran (Indianapolis, IN). The Royals record now stands at 15-2.

With the loss, Decatur Central falls to 10-11 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Martinsville (Martinsville, IN) to battle the Artesians in a Mid-State challenge on Tuesday, May 9. The Artesians enter the challenge with a record of 10-7. Martinsville won 16-5 in their recent league challenge against Franklin Community (Franklin, IN)
