South Adams Starfires (Berne, IN) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Garrett Railroaders (Garrett, IN), 8-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Starfires now sport a 10-6 record. They take the field next when they host Woodlan for a Allen County challenge on Tuesday, May 9. South Adams will face a Warriors squad coming off a 5-2 non-league win over Antwerp (Antwerp, OH). The Warriors record now stands at 10-3.

With the loss, Garrett falls to 2-11 on the campaign. The Railroaders host Heritage (Monroeville, IN) to face the Patriots in a non-league challenge on Monday, May 8. The Patriots enter the challenge with a record of 9-6. Heritage lost 11-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Norwell (Ossian, IN)
