May 6, 2024: Newton, MA 02459 Spectators at Monday's league battle between the Newton South Lions (Newton, MA) and the visiting Waltham Hawks (Waltham, MA), saw Newton South's baseball squad knock off Waltham by a count of 6-1.
Coming up next, the Lions play the Somerville Highlanders (Somerville, MA) in a non-league battle, on Thursday, May 9. Newton South will attempt to move on its 6-6 season record. The Highlanders enter the battle with a 11-3 record after their 12-2 league win over Everett (Everett, MA).
The Hawks now possess a 6-6 record. They take the field next when they host Lincoln-Sudbury for a Dual County battle on Wednesday, May 8. Waltham will play a Warriors squad coming off a 1-0 league win over Wayland (Wayland, MA). The Warriors record now stands at 10-3.
