The crowd at Wednesday's league match between the Palatine Pirates (Palatine, IL) and the host Prospect Knights (Mt. Prospect, IL), saw Palatine's softball squad nip Prospect by a count of 8-5.

The Pirates now sport a 6-17 record. They take the field next when they travel to Conant for a Mid-Suburban West match on Friday, May 9.

With the loss, Prospect falls to 2-3 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Rolling Meadows (Rolling Meadows, IL) to face the Mustangs in a Mid-Suburban East match on Friday, May 16. The Mustangs enter the match with a record of 4-19.
