In Wednesday's non-league game, the host Pleasant Plains Cardinals baseball team scored a close 5-4 win over the Springfield Senators.

The Cardinals (23-5) will now prepare for their game against Routt Catholic (Jacksonville, IL). The Rockets go into the non-league game with a 15-10 record. In their last game, Routt Catholic was tipped by Liberty (Liberty, IL), 7-6, in a non-league game.

Next, the Senators play the Williamsville Bullets (Williamsville, IL) in a non-league game, on Friday, May 9. Springfield will attempt to improve on its 7-15 season record. The Bullets go into the game with a 9-10 record after their 8-7 non-league loss to Taylorville (Taylorville, IL).
