Illinois High School Softball - Wesclin bounces East Alton-Wood River
May 8, 2021: Wood River, IL 62095 Wesclin Warriors (Trenton, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host East Alton-Wood River Oilers (Wood River, IL), 19-0 in a non-league challenge.
The Warriors now own a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Freeburg for a Cahokia - Mississippi challenge on Monday, May 10. Wesclin will face a Midgets squad coming off a 8-1 non-league loss to Nashville (Nashville, IL). The Midgets record now stands at 7-3.
With the loss, East Alton-Wood River falls to 0-6 on the campaign. The Oilers travel to Metro-East Lutheran (Edwardsville, IL) to face the Knights in a Prairie State challenge on Tuesday, May 11. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 2-4. Metro-East Lutheran lost 16-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Dupo (Dupo, IL)
