New York High School Softball - Dansville can't get by Newark
May 8, 2023: Newark, NY 14513 In Monday's non-league contest, the Newark Reds (Newark, NY) softball team held off the visiting Dansville Mustangs (Dansville, NY), by a margin of 7-6.
With the triumph, Newark moves its record to 5-9 on the year. The Reds host Penn Yan Academy (Penn Yan, NY) to play the Mustangs in a Finger Lakes East battle on Tuesday, May 9. The Mustangs go into the battle with a record of 5-4. Penn Yan Academy won 6-4 in their recent league battle against Waterloo (Waterloo, NY)
The Mustangs now sport a 0-11 record. They play next when they travel to Wayland-Cohocton for a Livingston County Division I battle on Thursday, May 11. Dansville will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 3-2 league win over Hornell (Hornell, NY). The Eagles record now stands at 14-3.
