New Jersey High School Softball - High Point holds off Phillipsburg
May 8, 2024: Phillipsburg, NJ 08865 The crowd at Wednesday's non-league match between the High Point Wildcats (Sussex, NJ) and the host Phillipsburg Stateliners (Phillipsburg, NJ), saw High Point's softball squad nip Phillipsburg by a count of 2-0.
The Wildcats now sport a 14-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Vernon for a NJAC - Freedom match on Thursday, May 9. High Point will face a Vikings squad coming off a 4-3 league win over Lenape Valley (Stanhope, NJ). The Vikings record now stands at 7-8.
With the loss, Phillipsburg falls to 8-9 on the campaign. The Stateliners travel to Bernards (Bernardsville, NJ) to face the Mountaineers in a Skyland - Raritan match on Thursday, May 9. The Mountaineers enter the match with a record of 11-5. Bernards lost 6-2 in their recent non-league match against Immaculata (Somerville, NJ)
