In Thursday's non-league game, the host McFarland Cougars baseball team scored a close 3-2 win over the Laton Mustangs.

The Cougars (8-14) will now prepare for their game against North (Bakersfield, CA). The Stars go into the non-league game with a 7-21 record. In their last game, North was tipped by Legacy Christian Academy (Bakersfield, CA), 11-1, in a non-league game.

Next, the Mustangs play the Parlier Panthers (Parlier, CA) in a non-league game, on Friday, May 9. Laton will attempt to improve on its 6-15 season record. The Panthers go into the game with a 4-12 record after their 11-3 league loss to Minarets (O'Neals, CA).
