In Thursday's league match, the host Fairfield Falcons softball team scored a tight 5-3 win over the Fremont Eagles.

The Falcons (11-6) will now prepare for their match against Eastside (Butler, IN). The Blazers come into the Northeast Corner match with a 17-3 record. In their last match, Eastside nipped Edgerton (Edgerton, OH), 9-7, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Eagles confront the Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran Cadets (Fort Wayne, IN) in a non-league match, on Saturday, May 10. Fremont will attempt to better on its 7-7 season record. The Cadets come into the match with a 3-13 record after their 18-2 non-league loss to East Noble (Kendallville, IN).
