In Thursday's league match, the visiting Union Bears softball team scored a tight 6-0 victory over the Gate City Blue Devils.

The Bears (8-10) will now prepare for their match against Lee (Jonesville, VA). The Generals go into the Mountain 7 match with a 12-6 record. In their last match, Lee tipped John Battle (Bristol, VA), 7-0, in a league match.
