The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Merrillville Pirates (Merrillville, IN) and the visiting River Forest Ingots (Hobart, IN), observed Merrillville's softball team notch a victory over River Forest by a final score of 26-16.

The Pirates (2-19) will now prepare for their bout against Michigan City (Michigan City, IN). The Wolves go into the Duneland bout with a 1-15 record. In their last bout, Michigan City was routed by Valparaiso (Valparaiso, IN), 11-0, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Ingots battle the Hammond Central Wolves (Hammond, IN) in a non-league bout, on Friday, May 9. River Forest will attempt to better on its 5-9 season record.
