Illinois High School Baseball - Normal University holds off Pontiac
May 9, 2025: Pontiac, IL 61764 The Normal University Pioneers baseball team scored 10 runs and held the host Pontiac Indians to 6 in the Pioneers non-league win on Friday.
The Pioneers now hold a 20-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to East Peoria for a non-league test on Saturday, May 10. Normal University will play a Raiders team coming off a 7-4 league loss to Morton (Morton, IL). The Raiders record now stands at 17-7.
With the defeat, Pontiac drops to 6-12 on the year. The Indians travel to Prairie Central (Fairbury, IL) to play the Hawks in a Illini Prairie test on Monday, May 12. The Hawks go into the test with a record of 5-22. Prairie Central lost 7-6 in their recent non-league test against Maroa-Forsyth (Maroa, IL)
