Illinois High School Soccer - Springfield knocks off Champaign Central
May 9, 2025: Springfield, IL 62704 The Springfield Senators soccer squad scored 9 points and held the visiting Champaign Central Maroons to 1 in the Senators non-league victory on Friday.
The Senators now hold a 19-1 record. They play next when they host Normal West for a non-league bout on Thursday, May 15. Springfield will encounter a Wildcats squad coming off a 10-2 non-league loss to Morton (Morton, IL). The Wildcats record now stands at 12-7.
With the loss, Champaign Central moves to 11-6 on the year. The Maroons travel to Peoria Notre Dame (Peoria, IL) to encounter the Irish in a Big Twelve bout on Tuesday, May 13. The Irish go into the bout with a record of 18-1.
